How much music can you fit on a 250 GB hard drive?
According to my husband, all the music.
Okay, maybe not all the music. But definitely a lot of music. My husband has never been very good at math.
Jefitoblog is offering a 250 GB external hard drive (Firewire/USB 2.0), loaded up to the brim with mp3s as part of Bloggers for a Cure -- 14 blogs that have come together to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Great Strides Walk. We're sponsoring Scott Malchus, a fellow blogger whose son Jacob has CF. (That's Jacob with his sister Sophie. Check out this article on the Malchus family to learn more about them.)
We want to smash Scott's personal goal of $2,500, and we need your help to do it. It was easy for me to say "yes" to supporting this cause, because CF is in my family. We're hoping that offering some fabulous prizes will make it easy for you to say "yes" too. After the Great Strides Walk (June 2), we’ll hold drawings for these prizes. To be eligible, all you have to do is click here to give, and when filling out your information, be sure to reference “Bloggers for a Cure” in the comments field.
Some of the other prizes we'll be giving away include:
+ Nick Bollinger and Awa Press have donated signed copies of his book, How to Listen To Pop Music.
+ The Jazz Session is donating The Complete Jerome Kern Songbooks (Verve Records, 3 CDs), A grab bag of five jazz CDs by emerging artists, and the Tineke Postma Live In Amsterdam DVD.
+ Jefitoblog is offering a sealed, limited edition boxed set containing remastered versions of the first seven Sly & The Family Stone albums .
+ Many, wonderful kids' musicians have donated signed CDs and other merchandise. Their response has been truly overwhelming. Justin Roberts, The Terrible Twos, Milkshake, Rebecca Frezza, Frances England, Peter Himmelman, AudraRox, Robbi K, Elizabeth Mitchell, Ernie & Neal, The Hipwaders, Debi Derryberry, Constant Wonder, Music for Aardvarks, and many others are in the "prize vault."
